Romsey Recreation Centre
A note from the manager -
As we transition from the winter sports season into the summer seasons, and with that hopefully some nice weather we thought it was the perfect time to update you on the news at the Romsey Recreation Centre.
This financial year will see some much needed improvements at the centre. Already this year we have seen a drink fountain and a new door to the playground installed. We can also look forward to some new carpet upstairs and the stadium floor resurfacing during the September school holidays. We have also purchased some new equipment in lighter netball poles and a low basketball ring for our under 10 program. We have submitted requests for additional funding for improvements so fingers crossed we will see some more changes over the coming months.
We are working hard at developing some new programs for the centre. In the pipeline are a senior mixed basketball competition for Wednesday nights, and a junior squash coaching program. We are here to cater for the needs of this community so if there is a program you would like to see offered, please let us know.

U10 Soccer Coaching
Soccer clinic that incorporates drills and games to teach the basics of soccer. Perfect for new players. Ages 5 – 10 years. $75.00 for 10 weeks. Includes ball and shin pads. Starts Friday October 9th, 2009. Bookings are essential.
Aussie Hoops
Basketball clinic designed to teach the basics of basketball and general fitness using games and drills. Perfect for new players. Ages 5–10 years. $75.00 for 10 weeks. Includes ball and drink bottle. Starts Tuesday October 6th, 2009. Bookings are Essential.
Under 17 Junior Soccer
Under 17 soccer is changing nights! Games will be played Friday nights at 6.30pm & 7.20pm. Term 4, 2009 & Term 1 2010. $95.00 for season.
Knockout Chicks - Fitness Clasess
Women’s only fitness class has now kicked off on Monday Wednesday 10.15am & Friday 9.15am. Why not drop the kids off in occasional care and do something for yourself! Call Melanie Traynor for more information on 0430 370 360 or melanie@tpfitness.com.au
Occasional Care
Romsey Occasional Care is now operating out of the Romsey Recreation Centre Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings. We would like to welcome Rebecca Wilson and congratulate her on starting a fantastic community service. Junior Squash Clinics
The Romsey Recreation Centre is now offering junior squash clinics on Thursday nights. Primary school sessions (8-12) years at 4.00pm. Secondary school sessions at 5.00pm. Cost only $40 for 8 weeks. Our coach is Steven Lawler, who plays at a national level, and is a qualified squash coach.
Senior Basketball Competition
We are hoping to run a summer competition of senior mixed basketball, or over 30’s mixed basketball on Wednesday nights. If you are interested register now. Team or individuals welcome.
U10 Soccer Competition
The first season of the under 10 soccer competition has kicked off on Monday nights. This competition incorporates 10 minutes of coaching and a 30 minute game each week. We still have very limited spaces available for any players interested. The season is $85.00.
ROOM HIRE
Are you looking for something different for your child’s next birthday party. Why not run a sports party at the Romsey Recreation Centre. We also have squash courts available for casual and regular hire. Racquets & balls available from reception.
